Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 100g unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp chilli flakes
- 500g radishes, leaves removed, smashed with the flat edge of a knife or halved/quartered
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
Instructions
- Heat butter and chilli flakes: Place the unsalted butter and chilli flakes in a small frying pan over medium heat. Cook until the butter begins to foam and turns a golden brown color, infusing the butter with the heat and flavor of the chilli flakes.
- Add radishes and cook: Add the prepared radishes to the pan. Toss and turn the radishes often to coat them evenly in the chilli butter. Continue cooking for about 10-15 minutes until the radishes are softened but still retain some texture.
- Finish with lemon juice and seasoning: Increase the heat slightly and pour in the juice of half a lemon. Let it sizzle and reduce briefly, then season with salt to taste. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Smashed radishes can be halved or quartered if smashing them is difficult.
- Adjust chilli flakes quantity to control the spice level based on your preference.
- Serve as a side dish alongside grilled meats or as part of a vegetable medley.
- Use fresh lemon juice for a bright and vibrant finish.
- Butter can be substituted with a dairy-free alternative for a vegan version, adjusting the diet label accordingly.
