Nutella French Toast Rolls Recipe

  • Author: Luna
  • Total Time: 16 minutes
  • Yield: 6 Nutella French Toast Rolls 1x

Description

Delicious Nutella French Toast Rolls made by rolling flat sandwich bread with creamy Nutella, dipped in a cinnamon-egg mixture, and pan-fried to golden perfection. A delightful twist on traditional French toast that’s perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread and Filling

  • 6 slices Sandwich Bread, crusts removed
  • 1/2 cup Nutella®

Egg Mixture

  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Milk

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  • 2 tablespoons Caster Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

For Cooking

  • 2 tablespoons Butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bread: Cut the crusts off 6 slices of sandwich bread and use a rolling pin to flatten each slice evenly, creating a smooth base for rolling.
  2. Spread Nutella and Roll: Spread about 1/2 cup Nutella evenly over each flattened bread slice. Carefully roll each slice up into a tight roll to enclose the Nutella filling.
  3. Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons caster sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Set aside for later coating.
  4. Prepare Egg Mixture: In another bowl, beat together 1 egg and 1 tablespoon milk until fully blended and smooth.
  5. Cook the Rolls: Preheat a frying pan over medium heat and melt 2 tablespoons butter until bubbly. Dip each Nutella bread roll into the egg mixture, shaking off excess, then immediately place them seam-side down into the pan. Cook for about 1 minute per side or until golden brown.
  6. Coat with Cinnamon Sugar and Serve: Remove cooked rolls from the pan and roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated. Serve warm and enjoy your Nutella French Toast Rolls!

Notes

  • For best results, use soft sandwich bread to make rolling easier.
  • You can substitute Nutella with any chocolate-hazelnut spread or even peanut butter for variation.
  • Serve with fresh berries or a drizzle of maple syrup for added flavor.
  • Cook on medium heat to ensure rolls cook evenly without burning.
  • To keep rolls warm before serving, place them in a low oven (about 200°F / 90°C) after cooking.
